Muffin

So, last weekend our neighbors had a little party for the skyshow.  The skyshow is a fireworks show at the stadium after a SDSU football game.  We can see the fireworks from our house, so the neighbors had some people over.  We took the boys over to the party.

During the fireworks show, Matt saw that our dogs got out, both Muffin and Reagan.  They had pushed through the side fence.  And since Muffin is skidish, she is scared of the fireworks.  Matt ran out and called them, and Reagan came back.  Muffin kept running...

Long story short, we looked for her for hours.  We never found her that night.  The next day, Sunday, we posted fliers all over and drove around looking for her.  Finally, Sunday afternoon, we got a call from the shelter saying that they had picked her up. She is chipped, so they had our info.

Matt went to get her and her paws were in terrible shape.  They were completely torn up from running all night.  The people who found her thought she got hit by a car cause she was bleeding and limping, but it turns out it was just her paws.  They hurt so bad, she couldn't walk anymore.  We had to take her to the vet for care within 24 hrs of picking her up.  Matt took her in right away and they had to knock her out and clean up her paws.

So, $800 later...our ordeal is almost over.  He paws were bandaged all week, till Thursday, then they took them off to let her feet dry out.  Now she just has to stay inside with a cone on her head for another week! Crazy dog!!! Has been a pain, but we are glad we got her back, and that nothing worse happen to her.

Our new ride

We have upgraded to a minivan!

A must with 3 little ones all in carseats.  So, last week we bought a 2006 Toyota Sienna in preperation for the baby's arrival in May.  (There are no recalls on this car!)

It is an 8 passenger mini-van, we have removed the middle seat in the middle row for now.  It has an automatic sliding door on one side, which I love.  It is a 2006 and has about 46,000 miles on it.  So far so good.  We all like it and there is a whole back row, which we haven't even used yet!

We are trying to sell our Hynudai Santa Fe on Craigs List now, but not many hits yet.  Hopefully soon!

Here are some pictures of the new hot rod : )

Our garden

We built a garden area in the back for my birthday in March.

This was the garden 3 weeks ago...

It is going crazy!  All of the plants are starting to bloom.  We have squash, zuccini, tomatos, strawberries, and cucumbers.

This is our other addition to the yard, a clothsline.  It has worked out great, so far.

Money saving tip...

Spring cleaning!

We are getting ready to landscape our backyard and build my garden!  I love doing a garden in the spring.  Maybe this year Miles can help me.

Here is the progress we made last weekend.

Locks of Love

I decided to chop all my hair off on Wednesday night and donate my long locks to the organization Locks of Love.  They make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments or other medical reasons.  You have to cut off 10" ponytails to make this donation, so my hair turned out a little shorter than I expected.

Here is the before shot:

And for the after shots, we forgot to take them when my hair was all nice and styled, but this is how it looks now when I wake up:

Happy anniversary!

The night of Madeline's wedding, Oct 26, was also my parents 40 year wedding anniversary.

My sister, Kathy, and her husband, Derek, celebrated 5 years on Oct 10.

And Matt and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary on Wed Oct 29, the day after we got back from San Francisco.

Happy Anniversary to all!!!

Matt's home!!!

This past weekend, on Sunday 10/26, I had a family wedding in SF.  Since Matt wasn't home yet, I flew up there with the boys by myself.  Although I always plan for the worst, everything went smoothly.  No issues at all, I couldn't believe it.

We had booked Matt a ticket to fly from Hawaii to San Francisco on Sunday night at 9am to arrive on Monday morning at 5am.  The ship got in to Hawaii early on Sunday so he was able to catch an earlier flight.  He arrived at SFO on Sunday night at 9pm.  We were still at the wedding.  My Uncle Al just happened to land there at the same time and was able to pick Matt up and bring him to the wedding.  It was perfect timing.  I thought Miles would for sure be sleeping by the time Matt got to the wedding.  But he was having so much fun dacing and running around, he was still awake!  Matt got to the wedding at 10pm, just in time for the last dance.

I didn't get too many photos of the homecoming or the wedding.  Most of them turned out blury too.  There are some cute pictures of our time in SF though.  We all flew back to San Diego together on Tuesday afternoon.  We are so glad to have him back!

Check out the photos in the Wedding in SF & Matt homecoming album.
